What do I enjoy most about my job?
I love being able to interact with and getting to know the residents. I learn so much from them and when they smile and feel cared-for, it makes my heart happy.
What tips would you give prospective residents and their families?
I always recommend to never say never. When residents get to a certain age/stage in life, they sometimes feel hopeless. I like to encourage hope and ask that their families will encourage their resident to try something new, or to become reacquainted with something from their past; to be open to the possibility of new experiences and to make some new, happy memoires. It takes a village but when we all contribute and do our share, we can spread joy – and that is definitely worth spreading and receiving.
